"Respect! My body!" Booklet Launching event

Hanoi, 23 May 2017 – Today, the “Repect! My body!” booklet for grown-ups on how to talk with children about body boundaries and sexual abuse was officially introduced in an event hosted by Trung Hoa Secondary School, Cau Giay District, Hanoi. The event is jointly organized by the Swedish Embassy, Save the Children in Vietnam and Vietnam Programme for Internet and Society.

Ra mắt cẩm nang "Hãy tôn trọng! Đây là cơ thể tôi!"

Hà Nội ngày 23 tháng 5 năm 2017 - Ngày hôm nay, "Hãy tôn trọng! Đây là cơ thể tôi! ", cẩm nang trò chuyện với trẻ về cơ thể, những giới hạn và phòng tránh xâm hại tình dục đã chính thức được giới thiệu trong một sự kiện được tổ chức tại trường THCS Trung Hòa, Cầu Giấy, Hà Nội.

In Vietnam, a Program Works toward Schools Free of Violence

Addressing a Save the Children’s workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, Minh Trang, a teacher in Vo Gap district, drew attendants’ attention with her own story.

“I had never believed in soft discipline on students. I used to see those naïve faces engulfed in fear,” said Trang, who used to work as a teacher of geography and now serves as the deputy principal at Nguyen Van Troi secondary school. “My students later said the image of me with a long, thick stick had dented in their minds.”

Program Supports Thousands of Marginalized Vietnamese Children

Save the Children in Vietnam organized a workshop to review its project for migrant and other marginalized children in Ho Chi Minh City in late January to assess what has been done and the way forward.

Pupils empower pupils

In a small classroom, two kids were in the role of teachers were instructing 30 others pupils at the same age, not about regular subjects but about child rights and how to protect themselves from risk of abuses.

The children were brilliant in facilitation. They provide their friends with games, quizzes and a lot freedom for discussions which is not common in the class of Vietnamese regular schools, making the session so loud and fun.
