Nestled between the north-east and north-west of Vietnam, lies Lao Cai, a mountainous border province. This region is home to 25 ethnic minority groups which make up 64% of the total population. Children in Lao Cai often find themselves on the periphery, receiving limited attention, care, and educational support from their parents. This lack of support stems from the parents' limited knowledge and skills in caregiving and facilitating their children's learning.

In the role as a health staff at Thien Tri Primary-Secondary School (Tien Giang, Vietnam) for 11 years, Ms. My involves diverse responsibilities beyond physical care, including administrative tasks and outdoor support.

On September 27, 2023, during the students' break, as usual, laughter echoed across the schoolyard. Little did she know that this joyous atmosphere would transform into a scene of concern and urgency.
