Vietnam “WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER” PROJECT ENGAGEMENT VISIT
On January 28, Save the Children, in collaboration with Da Nang DOET, organized an engagement trip for the partner Prudential Viet Nam to three project schools in Da Nang, including a preschool, a primary school and a school for children with special needs. One of the highlights of the trip was the main engagement event at Hoa Phu preschool, where 70 children and 10 volunteers from Prudential Vietnam participated in a creative session with book coloring, nutritious snacks, flashmob and photo taking. The event’s main aim is for children to learn about good hygiene practices to help prevent COVID-19. In addition, the volunteers helped decorate a wall displaying COVID-19 prevention messages to promote awareness for children and their parents.
This activity is part of the “We are in this together” project funded by Prudential Viet Nam and Eastspring Investments Vietnam and managed by Save the Children. The project’s objective is to strengthen resilience to support deprived children in order to reduce drop-out rates and child labor during the COVID-19 epidemic in Da Nang city. Specifically, this support package provides consumable medical items like soap, hand sanitizer, thermometers, face masks, etc. and suitable equipment to enhance hygiene practices at school, as well as nutritious school snacks.
There are also guidance and educational materials for schools and parents to support children to raise awareness about how to recognize and prevent COVID-19. In addition, the package provides educational support for teachers and children with disabilities through provision of appropriate teaching and learning tools.

Ngày 28/1 vừa qua, Tổ chức Cứu trợ Trẻ em đã phối hợp với Sở GD & ĐT Đà Nẵng, Công ty bảo hiểm nhân thọ Prudential tổ chức chuyến tham quan tại 3 trường thuộc dự án ở Đà Nẵng, bao gồm: Trường mầm non, trường tiểu học và trường dành cho trẻ có nhu cầu đăc biệt. Một trong những hoạt động chính trong chuyến thăm này là sự kiện được tổ chức tại trường mầm non Hòa Phú với sự tham gia của 70 trẻ em và 10 tình nguyện viên đến từ Prudential Việt Nam. Sự kiện đã có nhiều hoạt động thú vị như tô màu, nhảy flashmob “Vũ điệu rửa tay”, chụp ảnh kỷ niệm…, đồng thời, các tình nguyện viên đã vẽ, trang trí bức tường thể hiện các thông điệp phòng chống COVID-19 nhằm nâng cao nhận thức cho trẻ và phụ huynh.
Đây là hoạt động thuộc khuôn khổ dự án “Chung sức hành động vì cộng đồng” do Công ty bảo hiểm nhân thọ Prudential, Công ty TNHH Quản Lý Quỹ Eastspring Investments tài trợ và được Tổ chức Cứu trợ Trẻ em quản lý. Mục tiêu của dự án là tăng cường khả năng phục hồi để hỗ trợ trẻ em thiệt thòi nhằm giảm tỉ lệ bỏ học và lao động ở trẻ em trong bối cảnh đại dịch COVID-19 tại thành phố Đà Nẵng. Cụ thể, gói cứu trợ nhu yếu phẩm bao gồm thực phẩm và vật dụng y tế như: xà phòng, nước rửa tay, nhiệt kế, khẩu trang,… và các thiết bị phù hợp để tăng cường thực hành vệ sinh trong trường học.
Ngoài ra, dự án còn cung cấp các tài liệu hướng dẫn cho các trường và phụ huynh về giáo dục nâng cao nhận thức trẻ em trong việc nhận biết và phòng tránh COVID-19. Gói cứu trợ cũng hỗ trợ cung cấp công cụ dạy học phù hợp cho giáo viên và trẻ khuyết tật.
