Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City launches Action program for children | Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh phát động triển khai Chương trình Hành động vì trẻ em
On December 20, 2022, Save the Children in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Children's Committee organized a conference to launch the “Action Program for Children” in the city until 2030.
The event was attended by many representatives of ministries, local authorities and organizations, such as the Department of Children under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, HCMC’s Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, HCMC Children's Rights Protection Association, HCMC Child Welfare Association, together with representatives of Save the Children.
Many initiatives and activities developed by Save the Children and widely applied in HCMC in the past 10 years were shared and mentioned by the delegates at the conference. Some typical ones include Positive discipline approach, Friendly school project, School dialogue program, Guidance on child protection in Buddhist child care facilities, etc.
At the event, delegates also discussed current challenges in child protection activities, proposed solutions and shared pilot models which are expected to be launched in the upcoming time. Participants demonstrated commitment to putting their best efforts in implementing the Action Program to build Ho Chi Minh City into a safe, child-friendly place, to ensure that children have a healthy living environment for their comprehensive development, while effectively preventing violence against and abuse of children; preventing and reducing child labour, accidents and injuries; timely detecting and intervening in cases of violations of children's rights; and protecting confidential information on the private life and personal secrets of children.

Ngày 20/12/2022, Tổ chức Cứu trợ Trẻ em phối hợp với Ủy ban Trẻ em Tp.HCM đã tổ chức hội nghị triển khai “Chương trình hành động vì trẻ em Tp.HCM giai đoạn đến năm 2030”.
Sự kiện có sự tham gia của nhiều đại biểu đại diện các Bộ, ngành trung ương và các cơ quan, tổ chức tại địa phương, như Cục Trẻ em - Bộ Lao động - Thương binh và Xã hội, Sở Lao động - Thương binh và Xã hội Tp.HCM, Hội Bảo vệ quyền trẻ em Tp.HCM, Hội Bảo trợ trẻ em Tp.HCM, cùng đại diện của Tổ chức Cứu trợ Trẻ em.
Tại hội nghị, các đại biểu đã chia sẻ, phân tích nhiều sáng kiến, mô hình và hoạt động vì trẻ em do Tổ chức Cứu trợ Trẻ em phát triển và được áp dụng rộng rãi trên địa bàn Tp.HCM trong 10 năm qua. Một số sáng kiến tiêu biểu có thể kể đến như phương pháp Kỷ luật tích cực trong trường học, dự án Trường học thân thiện, chương trình Đối thoại học đường, Bộ quy chuẩn về bảo vệ trẻ em trong các cơ sở chăm sóc trẻ em Phật giáo...
Hội nghị cũng thảo luận những thách thức trong công tác bảo vệ trẻ em hiện nay, các giải pháp tháo gỡ và một số mô hình thí điểm dự kiến ra mắt trong thời gian tới. Đại diện các đơn vị đều thể hiện sự đồng lòng và cam kết thực hiện chương trình hành động với nỗ lực cao nhất nhằm xây dựng Tp.HCM trở thành nơi an toàn, thân thiện để trẻ em có thể phát triển toàn diện, đồng thời ngăn chặn có hiệu quả tình trạng bạo lực, xâm hại trẻ em; phòng ngừa, giảm thiểu lao động trẻ em, tai nạn, thương tích trẻ em; phát hiện và can thiệp kịp thời những trường hợp vi phạm quyền trẻ em; bảo vệ thông tin bí mật đời sống riêng tư, bí mật cá nhân của trẻ em.
