Online training on professional teaching meeting (PTM) for pre-school and primary school teachers.

In August 2020, Save the Children organized a two-day online training session on professional teaching meetings (PTM) for more than 200 teachers from primary schools and preschools in five project provinces namely Đồng Tháp, Quảng Bình, Tiền Giang, Hải Phòng, Đà Nẵng. The activity is under the project “Improving the quality of education for deprived children in Vietnam”. The training provided teachers with theoretical knowledge on PTM as well as skills to smoothly and effectively run PTM. During the training, all participants are divided into groups for practising PTM.

More Vietnamese children are better off today than 20 years ago, according to the third annual Global Childhood Report 2019, which launches today in Hanoi by Save the Children in collaboration with the Department of Child Affairs under the Ministry of Labor, Invalid and Social Affairs.

Press Release: Save the Children promotes reading habits among children

Hanoi, 14 June – Today, Save the Children hosted a ‘National Reading Day’ in Hanoi to promote reading habits, enhance access and availability of reading materials for children, and advocate for supporting children in developing their foundational literacy and math skills. Children, including ethnic minority children from the provinces of Yen Bai and Quang Nam, parents, teachers, policy makers, and relevant stakeholders attended the event.
