Save the Children helps children adapt to climate change

Save the Children has started a project to support 11,200 children in Tien Giang Province to learn about climate change and how to adapt to the extreme weather.

 Through trainings and extra-curriculum activities, Save the Children will provide the children in 15 primary schools and middle schools in the province with basic knowledge and skills to better prepare for disaster risks and to cope with climate change consequences.

Save the Children and HSBC provide rainwater harvesting systems for poor families in Dong Thap

Save the Children and HSBC awarded 240 rainwater harvesting systems to poor families in 12 communes of Dong Thap Provinces last weekend.

The devices, worth US$26,000 aim to support the locals in the flood-prone areas to generate and store safe water for their household activities, especially during and after the flood seasons.

The award is part of a US$556,672 project in Mekong delta funded by HSBC from 2013 to 2015.

Save the Children supports book exchanges by children to protect environment

Save the Children supported two schools in Quang Nam Province to organise a book exchange day  to educate the children to practise thrift and protect the environment last weekend.

The event titled 'Economising, Reusing and Recycling to Adapt to Climate Change' attracted nearly 200 children from Le Quy Don secondary school and Duy Tan primary school and community members in the neighborhoods to attend and donate books.
